North Country Camps

This past weekend I went up to the Adirondacks for the "Old Timer's Reunion" at the camp we all grew up at. It is the most beautiful place on earth. A little camp, nestled in the pine trees on a lake. No electricity in the cabins, you walk to a community bathroom, open showers beneath the wide open sky, it's simply amazing. My parents, Maggie and two of my cousins went. We got to reconnect with a bunch of old friends we haven't seen in years and years. We went canoing, sailing, horseback riding (mom), the ropes course (Maggie, Debbie, Mom), swimming, and hiking. I had to include the pictures of the women who made it to the top of the wall!

We had time just to walk around the grounds and hang out too. The counselors we worked with had kids of their own who are now approaching camp years, the next generation has begun.

We of course ended the weekend with our favorite hike up Pinnacle, the mountain that overlooks camp and the lake. It's nice to be able to leave life for a weekend and return to a place time has forgotten. The people look the same, the cabins look the same..."Round we go, round in the same sweet circle..."

What a gorgeous place! Every time I see a picture of your sister I think it is you for a second. How's the new job going?
